Water Softener HYDRO MINI 05 is designed for a single point of use. Due to its small dimensions, it is suitable for use in the hospitality industry, e.g., for coffee machines, ice makers, etc.

Water softeners are fully automated devices and require no manual operation. Only approximately once every 14 days, it is necessary to check the salt container. If the water level in the container is higher than the salt level, it is necessary to add salt. The lifespan of the filtration medium is 8 to 12 years. 
These devices are approved for use with drinking water.

Operating Principle

Hardness (calcium and magnesium salts) and other impurities are removed using filtration media. The water softener contains ion exchange resin (so-called ionex, katex), which replaces positively charged cations of compounds in the water, such as Ca2+, Mg2+, etc., with sodium ions Na+.

During the regeneration of the device, hardness and other captured impurities are removed from the filtration medium and flushed down the drain. At the same time, the ability of the filtration medium to bind cations of salts is restored using a salt solution.
