Product detailed description
Automatic water softening in a compact design
The AQ OPC WALL is an automatic water softener designed to remove water hardness using ion-exchange resin. As water passes through the resin, calcium and magnesium ions – the main causes of water hardness – are exchanged for sodium ions.
Water softening reduces limescale build-up in pipework, on taps and in domestic appliances. The unit operates automatically and, once the resin capacity is exhausted, carries out regeneration using a brine solution.
Economical UP-FLOW regeneration
The AQ OPC WALL utilises UP-FLOW counter-current regeneration. During regeneration, the brine solution passes through the ion-exchange resin in the opposite direction to the normal operating flow. This method of regeneration allows for the efficient use of the regenerant solution.
Salt consumption per regeneration cycle is only 0.7 kg for the WALL 7 model and 1.4 kg for the WALL 14.
Wall-mounted installation and SLIM design
A major advantage of the AQ OPC WALL series is the option of wall-mounted installation. As it is only 21.5 cm deep, the unit is suitable even where there is insufficient floor space.
The control head can be moved from one side of the unit to the other, making it easier to adapt to specific installation conditions.
Automatic control and bypass
The electronic control unit allows the water softener’s operation to be adjusted according to the parameters of the inlet water. The unit is equipped with an integrated meter and a BYPASS valve.
When the water softener is taken out of service, the bypass can be used to maintain the water supply to the premises. In this case, the water does not pass through the water softener and remains untreated.
Installation and inlet water quality
Before installation, it is advisable to carry out a water analysis to determine its hardness. For correct operation, the iron content must not exceed 0.2 mg/l and the manganese content 0.05 mg/l. The unit is not designed for microbiologically contaminated water or for water with unknown parameters.
Mechanical pre-filtration and a pressure-reducing valve are recommended upstream of the water softener. The water softener must be connected to the drainage system to allow water to be discharged during regeneration.

Regeneration and filter media
Regeneration salt is added to the water softener once every 1–2 months, depending on water consumption. Water softeners use Katex filter media, which provides the highest softening efficiency when tackling hard water problems.
Transport of the filtration unit
We recommend that the unit be sent on a pallet to prevent damage during transport. If you are also purchasing regeneration salt along with the filtration unit, please add the pallet to your basket together with the salt.
