How the Cation Exchange Softener OP Works
The most common and simplest way to soften water, which is also among the most effective, is the use of a softening filter that operates on the principle of ion exchange (i.e., cation exchange filter). The filter filled with cation exchange resin (softening resin) is inserted into the water supply, and as water flows through the filter medium, calcium and magnesium ions in the incoming water are exchanged for sodium ions. This method of softening water is very effective and simple.

*Maximum flow – flow for peak operation of the filter. Filtration efficiency does not decrease for up to 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes of operation, filtration efficiency starts to decrease very slowly.
Performance of the cation exchange softener based on water hardness (then it is necessary to change the cation exchange resin):
- Hardness 1 mmol / 1L resin = 500 l of water
- Hardness 2 mmol / 1L resin = 250 l of water
- Hardness 3 mmol / 1L resin = 170 l of water
- Hardness 4 mmol / 1L resin = 125 l of water

Procedure for changing the filter medium:
- Unscrew the filter head and remove the top sieve (leave the tube in place)
- Empty the existing cation exchange resin by turning the bottle upside down
- Pour new cation exchange resin through the top opening
- Insert the top sieve (basket) and mount the head
- Let the filter run for about 1 minute to flush it with water, then connect it to the water supply
A pre-filter for mechanical impurities must be mounted before each softener.
Transporting the filtration device
We recommend sending the device on a pallet to avoid damage during transport.
Service exchanges are recommended to be carried out regularly once a year.
